Brossard confines friendly to Zoldan

Well, after sweeping St-Jerome to start the season, they looked to continue their ways against Brossard.  Now, Brossard was supposed to have a good team this year, after fielding a very strong, young team last year.  But alas, it was not the case.

NDG pummeled Brossard for a 13-6 win.

The starting pitcher was Brad Thomas.  He pitched well for the first 6 innings, only giving up 2 runs, but throwing a lot of pitches.  His arm basically gave out on him in the top of the seventh, and Jason Doucet came in to finish it off.   But not without his fair share of difficulties.  But enough about the pitching, on to the hitting.

Ben Zoldan was certainly the star of the game.  In the third inning, Zoldan came up with 2 runners on base, and the score tied.  He delivered big time.   He took the ball over the center field fence to spot Thomas a 3 run lead.   This lead was very much appreciated by all.

Nick Trainor had a fine day at the plate, drawing 3 walks, and hitting a single and a double.

But the real story of the teams hitting, was facing Brossards last pitcher.  He was almost unhittable, and it remains a mystery why.  The pitcher was a young gun, who threw the ball at a max speed of about 65 miles an hour.  Now, if you don't know much about baseball, that's really slow.  But he did succed on striking out power hitters Zan Symonds and Ben Zoldan.  It's something that will have to be ironed out at practice.

The winners of the Terrence Doucet cups for the games against St-Jerome were Jason Doucet in the first game and Nick Trainor in the second.
