Lynx one game away from finals a nailbiter
The Lynx had to face up to the Bossard Cubs to get into the finals with an unbeaten record. But the Cubbies came out firing and the Lynx were just able to squeak out a win.
Adam Ferguson took the hill for the Lynx and he was in fine form as he gave his all for the entire game, and finished all seven innings for a complete win and 12 K's.
The Lynx staked a 5-1 lead, but in the top of the sixth inning, the Cubs punched across 2 runs, and were threatening, but Ferguson was able to pitch out of the jam beautifully.
The real under story of the game was the number 5 for Brossard. His name is not known to the team. But, rest assured, he has quite the mouth on him. Ever since Brossard beat the Lynx a few weeks ago, he has been extremely arrogant at the plate and also in the field. A great quote comes from one of the Brossard players, "Hey, tell you pitcher to hit out number 5. If he charges, we won't back him up." Though mighty appealing, Ferguson had already hit him in his first at bat, so it was basically all for naught.
Fergy's 3 stars:
3. Ben Zoldan - Went 2 for 4, with 2 runs scored.
2. Brad Thomas - Went 3 for 3, a walk, and 2 runs scored.
1. Adam Ferguson - Nothing like a complete game victory
