Let's play 2!

Second Game:

This game was not pretty, not pretty at all.  The Lynx suffered their worst loss of the season, by a score of 7-1.

I'm not even going to bother with a scoring summary, because franky, I can't remember it.

Jason Doucet started, and he got banged around a little, then Brad Thomas came into the game, and promptly gave up a 2 run homer in his first inning of work, but then settled down a little after that, and got out of it later on.

But the real story of the game, was the near brawl/umpiring.

First, the St-Jerome pitchers were very wild at times, then at others they could throw perfect strikes.  The whereabouts of this control could not be found.   But, DH at the time, Anthony DiMambro, was hit in the shoulder.  After a few looks at the pitcher the second baseman starter yelling at him.  Of course, this did not amuse the 6 foot 3, 225 pound DiMambro.  After a passed ball, he took off for second, and with this second baseman covering the bag, DiMamabro had no intention at all in sliding.  But the throw was off line, and there was no play.

Then, in DiMambro's next at bat the Rhinestone Cowboy (for info, see below) hit him in the shoulder.  An expletive here, a thrown bat there, and a slammed helmet later, DiMambro had to be called by the umpires and coaches.  He was not the most pleasant person at this point in time.  Whether the hit batsman was unintentional or not is still not known, but a warning should have come out of it.   But, alas, no warning was given.

As for the Rhinestone Cowboy, well there was this pitcher for St-Jerome who had a massively ugly beard, and a belt that was studded with Rhinestones.   Whether he is allowed to pitch with such a distraction is not known.  There was significant sun and the belt was picking up the glare very easily.  But, once again, the pitcher was not told to remove his belt.  Why?  Who knows.

But now, the team is focusing on Verdun who they will play tonight at Loyola at 8:45.
